Report by Basant Rath; Nabarangpur: The women wing of the district congress burnt the effigy of former minister Sanjaya Das Burma for his remarks in alleged rape and murder of the minor girl at Kosagumuda block here on Saturday.
In the evening in front of the congress office the women congress activists burnt the effigy, with anti-government slogans.
The women congress leader P Nagratnama, condemned the statement of Sanjaya Das Burma, and said how can the BJD leader said that “nothing happened, as alleged in Kosagumuda minor girl rape and murder incident for which the protest was launched is not based on facts” The congress leaders questioned the post mortem report is yet to come, in which circumstances Das Burma gives such types statement sitting 600 kms away is condemnable, she added.
