Report by Malaya Mohapatra; Kendujhar: The Chief Secretary and Secretary to Chief Minister and 5T, Government of Odisha visited the second dedicated 200 bedded COVID-19 Hospital being set up in Anwesha Hostel at Ranki, Keonjhar to review the work under progress. During the visit, they interacted with the officials of the District Administration including the District Collector, to take stock of the preparations.
The dedicated COVID Hospital will consist of separate buildings for COVID suspect and positive cases to prevent cross-contamination and will house state-of-the-art ICUs with ventilator facilities. The COVID Hospital is fully funded by District Mineral Foundation and will be managed by Utkal Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. The dignitaries were satisfied with the preparation so far. The hospital is expected to be functional within the next 7 days.
In addition, various containment activities undertaken by the District Administration were reviewed. The District Administration was advised to ensure speedy implementation of MGNREGA and support the revival of agriculture and related activities in the district. The District Administration was also asked to ensure that the migrants from other states are taken care of.
