New Delhi: Dr. Sunil Kumar Bhargava, Chief Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha inaugurated a Photo exhibition on Sevas/Rituals performed by Sevayats (Servitors) of Lord Jagannath on 19th March, 2017 at Odisha Bhawan, New Delhi. The photo exhibition, first of its kind in Delhi, was organised by Office of the Chief Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha, New Delhi in collaboration with Shree Jagannath Devotee Care Center, Puri for two days on 19th & 20th March, 2017. Over sixty rare photographs of important rituals were exhibited during this two-day exhibition. The prime objective of the photo exhibition was to popularise the rich cultural heritage of Odisha among Odia people residing in Delhi, NCR and the Delhiites in general. This is an initiative of Chief Resident Commissioner’s office to reach out to Odia families living in Delhi and adjoining areas. Several prominent persons and members from Embassies like Nigeria and Japan visited the exhibition and appreciated the initiative taken by the Chief Resident Commissioner’s office to propagate the rich cultural heritage of Shree Mandir and Lord Jagannath. On this occasion a Darshan Privilege card by Shree Jagannath Devotee Care Center was launched for hassle free Darshan for the card holders in the Shree Mandir at Puri. Moreover, all visitors and guests at the function were served Prasad from Shree Mandir on this occasion. Among others, Shri Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, Resident Commissioner, Dr. Tribikram Pradhan, Addl. Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha, President, Shree Jagannath Devotee Care Center, Puri, Shri Bhabani Prasad Das Mohapatra & Member, Shri Sabya Sachi Rath, Member of Temple Managing Committee, Shri Bhagvan Suar, Officers of the Chief Resident Commissioner’s office, Odisha Bhawan & Odisha Niwas and distinguished Odia people were present during the inaugural function.
