Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today launched a special drive for implementing beneficiary-led construction (BLC) to enable more and more inclusion of beneficiary so that the large gap between the housing demand in urban areas and the actual supply/availability would be decreased among the needy class.
In fact, there is a considerable gap between the actual demand for the houses under the BLC vertical of PMAY and the cause was led to the ownership of the land (RoR) records as in many cases the records were either found jointly or in the name of their predecessors. It has also been discovered that the delayed mutation proceedings due to ongoing settlement operations also come as a hurdle in order to delay such benefits.
The state government in its pro-people directive has asked the ULBs to overcome these difficulties in extending the benefits to deserving beneficiaries so that the more people would be covered under PMAY by filling specific affidavits, sworn in before the executive magistrate.
While in 67 wards under BMC publicity will be carried out between June 1 and June 4 through various media, ward-wise camps for receive of application will be organised between from 5th June to 12th June 2017. The compilation of information and preparation of register would be completed between June 13 and 21 and display of draft list of beneficiaries and verification would be done between June 22 and 30.
While ward Sabhas for recommendation of the proposal to the councils would be done between July 1 and July 7, display of final list would be done between July 10 and July 17. Approval of the proposals forwarded by ward sabhas in special council meeting will be done between July 18 and July 20. While the District Urban Housing Society (DUHS) will approve and submit the proposal to Odisha Urban Housing Mission (OUHM) between July 21 and 25.
