New Delhi: Madhu babu, the icon of Odia Honour was born on 28th April and this day is commemorated as the Odia Swabhiman Divas (The Odia Honour Day). On this day this year the day of Odia Honour was celebrated by Odisha Forum in association with IPROCH, The Intellects & Shree Nialachal Seva Sangha at the Constitution Club in New Delhi.
Madhusudan Das, Madhu babu, the father of Odia Nationalism and the architect of modern Odisha has more pertinence now than ever before. The future of Odisha is here, and they are fortunate to have Madhu babu, the Patriarch of Odisha Family to lead them through a life lived with unimaginable selflessness, sacrifice, indomitable valour and blessed strength of character. The Life & Times of Madhu babu are captured in an anthology which was released on this day during the celebration of Swabhiman Divas. The anthology is presented by the President of Odisha Forum Sri Gokul Patnaik and has been edited by Sri Charudutta Panigrahi, Governing Board Member of Odisha Forum.
Our Kulabrudha (Patriarch of Odisha) has been inspiring generations of Odias through his multi-faceted persona and this anthology on the life & times of Madhu Babu carries the thoughts, speeches and articles of prominent thinkers, young Odia corporate executives, his contemporaries and statesmen– ranging from his family, co-workers, Britishers and visionaries to the current writers and scribes. The anthology has also curated write ups, pictures from relevant portals with due credits.
This is perhaps the best of times to re-invigorate nationalism for young India and young Odisha. The unparallel spirit of Odia nationalism must keep flowing through them and beyond, ever unimpeded. Every year the commemoration of Odia Swabhiman Diwas on the birth anniversary of Madhu babu should make all Odias more aware of their illustrious past and more committed to creating a better future.
