Angul: The students and staff members of O.P. Jindal School, Angul celebrated its 8th Annual Day Function “SARGAM” on the evening of 23rd Dec, with great zest and enthusiasm. The function commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief-Guest Mr. Brijesh Kumar Rai (IPS), Superintendent of Police-Angul, in presence of Executive Director (I/c) of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Chairman of School Management Committee Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, Guest of Honour – EVP & Head Iron Making Mr. Damodar Mittal and other distinguished guests.
Attending the Function as Chief-Guest, Mr. Brijesh Kumar Rai advised the students to participate in such kind of extracurricular activities as this is the platform which gives them an opportunity to strengthen their friendship and brotherhood.
Presiding over the celebration Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, expressed his happiness over the performance of school students in various inter-school competitions and bringing laurels for the school and accumulating the name and fame across the state.
On this auspicious occasion the esteemed guests also unveiled the school’s Annual Magazine “Voyage”, encompassing the scheduled activities, academics and achievements of the school.
Mr. Chhanda Charana Das, Principal presented the Annual Report 2017-18 of the School with all gusto.
Among the other dignitaries presented on this occasion were Mrs. Sujata Saroagi, President, JMS; Brig. K. K. Chopra, Mr. S.K. Sharma, VP- CSR; Mr. Alok Malhotra, AVP-HR&ES; Mr. Ashish Pandey, GM-Projects; along with other HoD’s of various departments and community members.
The students beautifully performed various cultural programmes and Skits to show up their talent and interest on various social issues.
Apart from the celebration the winners of different activities conducted in the School were also received several prizes, trophies and certificates of appreciation from the Chief-Guest.
At last, Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma culminated the mesmerized evening with vote of thanks to each and everyone for their participation and contribution to make the function a grand success.
