New Delhi: Naval aircraft Yard (Kochi), SNC unit of Indian Navy designed and fabricated an Air Evacuation Stretcher for transfer of Covid patients from remote locations @ Rs 50000/- against imported piece cost of Rs 59Lacs.12 units being trfd to other Commands. The Pod is manufactured using Aluminum, Nitrile rubber & Perspex with total wt of 32 kg. Eliminates infec risk to crew& need of sanitization of a/c post evac. Trials held on board ALH and naval Dornier a/c successfully completed on 08 Apr 20.
