Madhya Pradesh CM announced Hundred percent increase in insured sum of sanitation workers

Bhopal :On the instructions of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, hundred percent increase has been made in the insured sum of sanitation workers. Sanitation workers will be entitled for the benefit from July 01, 2020. Order has been released by the state government in this regard. This order will benefit over 16 thousand existing sanitation workers as well as workers to be recruited on this post in the coming days.

Now the sanitation workers, working in the regular pay scale in urban bodies will get double amount under the group insurance scheme in case of death as compared to past. Now they will get Rs. One lakh on normal death and Rs. 2 lakh in case of death due to accident. The sum was Rs. 50 thousand and Rs. One lakh respectively earlier.

A decision has been taken to provide benefit to the sanitation workers because of their significant contribution in the field of sanitation by revising the insurance scheme. Now under the revised group insurance scheme, Rs. 20 per month will be deducted from salary of the sanitation workers, whereas the state government will contribute Rs. 60 per month. Directives have been issued to all Municipal Commissioners and Chief Municipal Officers to send pending cases for approval to the Directorate, Urban Administration and Development. The insured sum will be given to people nominated by the sanitation workers.
