Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur : Kendriya Vidyalaya [KV] Jagatsinghpur organized 2nd annual sports meet at school campus, collector chairman of VMC SK Mohapatra attended the event as chief guest accompanying National para Athlete Praffula kumar Khandayatray.
Chief Guest collector hoisted sports flag and released a white dove and declared the sports events began. Children’s from KV performed a march past and sports events as school readiness, jilebi race, sack race, frog jump, three leg race were performed.
Speaking on the prize giving ceremony collector Mohapatra advised attending parents to allow kids participating in quiz, debate, sports and other curricular activities so as to enhancing their personality. KV principal Aswini Kumar Pradhan read out annual report and Vivek Kumar proposed vote of thanks. [Ends]
Dist Pani Panchayat fortnight celebration ends.
JAGATSINGHPUR Jan 23. Pani Panchayat fortnight celebration was ended in a closing function held in Manijanga irrigation office premises 30 km away from Jagatsinghpur on Wednesday. Collector S K Mohapatra chaired the meeting and discussed several issues affecting farmers. Collector also assured attending farmers a district level farmers convention would be organized convoying all line departments at district headquarters in the month of February, elected members from different Pani Panchayats, farmers and agriculture dependents would be invited to discuss the agriculture prospects of the district. Among others Zilla Parishad president, Tirtol and Erasama blocks chairpersons including Jagatsinghpur irrigation division Executive engineer Umakanta Mohanty, assistant engineer Devi Prasad Nanda were spoke on the occasion. Several farmers from different Pani Panchayat were rewarded for their outstanding performance.
