Dhamra: Recalling the 114 birthday of Major Dhyan Chand Singh ( 29th Aug 1905 – 3rd Dec 1979), Adani Foundation observed the National Sports Day at Bania High School, Bhadrak by organising Kho-kho, Kabaddi tournament among the girls student of Bania and Rambhila high school.
The event was witnessed by Sarpanch-Bania, eminent teachers, Senior Citizens and Founder of Bania high school, Mr. Manoj Kumar Das – District Sports Officer, Mr. Pradipta Kumar Das – Secretary, OSTA, Mr. Manmath Kumar Rout – Headmaster, Bania High School and Mr. Ganesh Mahapatra- Headmaster, Rambhila High School of Bhadrak. 5 National level sports personalities Ms. KALPANA SAHOO (FOOT BALL), MR. JIGYANSHU DIXIT (ARCHERY), MR. RAKHAL KUMAR SETHI (INTERNATIONAL PARA OLYMPIC FENCING), MR. SRIKANT KUMAR JENA (BASKET BALL) and MS. SASWATI NAYAK (TAEKWONDO) were honoured with DPCL Khel Sanman Award 2019 by Adani Dhamra Port for their credential achievement in sports.
On this occasion Dhamra Port CEO Subrat Tripathy stated that the main objective of this initiative is to give a special recognition to various sports talents of the district through DPCL Khel Sanman Award. He added that Adani Dhamra Port is always committed to encourage the sporting spirit of the local sport talents and for the development of the district in the field of sports and athletics.
