Bhubaneswar: Strong winds, heavy downpour pummel #Odisha as Super Cyclone Amphan trudges along the coastal parts of the State towards West Bengal-Bangladesh. Strong winds, rain lash in Paradip, Kendrapada, Balasore, Bhadrak as Super Cyclone Amphan brushes Odisha coast as an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm while inching towards West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts where it will make landfall later today.
Paradip reported wind speed of 82 kmph (44 knots) at 4.30 am and rainfall 11.0 mm (hourly)/144.1mm (progressive total). Wind speed in Kendrapara reported between 90 to 120 kmph. Cyclone Amphan causes uprooting of trees, poles. Capital city Bhubaneswar experiences strong winds, continious rain .
Amphan Super Cyclone over BoB lay about 180km nearly south of Paradip ( Odisha) (as on 2.30 am today). It will cross West Bengal – Bangladesh coasts between Digha (WB) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) close to Sundarbans between afternoon & evening hours today says IMD.
