Governor Shri Patel was addressing the officers-employees of Police, Jail and Home Guard with Vishisht Seva Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Civil Defense Medal and Jeevan Raksha Padak at Raj Bhavan today. Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri said that the State Police has set high ideals of social commitment by doing excellent work of patriotism and public service. Apart from strictly controlling Naxal activities, a state-wide campaign has also been launched to curb crimes. Women’s desks have been set up in seven hundred police stations of the state. He said that the conviction rate in the identified offenses is also around 70 percent, which efforts are being made to improve it further. Shri Johri informed that on August 15, 2021, 9 officers-employees of police have been honored with Distinguished and 35 Meritorious Service Medals in the medal decoration program. Similarly, 11 have been honored with the Vishisht Seva Medal of the Jail Department and one for meritorious service. Three have been honored with President’s Home Guard and Civil Defense Medal and four for Meritorious Service. A total of 6 people along with 4 police personnel have been honored with Jeevan Raksha Padak on this occasion.
