Bhubaneswar: On 27th March 2022 – OMC, the 5th Biju Marathon was organized by Old Boys Association (OBA) of Sainik School Bhubaneswar. More than 800 participants consisting of Cadets and Old Boys of the Sainik School participated with a great vigour and enthusiasm.
To Commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the School the marathon has been renamed as the ‘Diamond Jubilee Marathon’ of the Sainik School Bhubaneswar. This event was conducted in collaboration between the Old Boys’ Association and OMC with a purpose to spread the message of Clean, Green and Healthy Bhubaneswar and the spirit of ‘Run for Fun’.
The event was flagged off by Gp Capt S Dominic Rayan, Principal, Sainik School Bhubaneswar joined by Shri Hardaman Singh, President OBA, Shri Madhusudan Padhi, IAS, Vice President,h Shri Amitav Swain, the former President and other officials of the OBA.
This sports event was started from the Gandhi Stadium of the School passing through NALCO – Kalinga Hospital square, Jaydev Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Apollo Hospital and finally culminated at the starting point with a total coverage of 7.3 Kms.
Cdr Pritika Sharma, the Adm Officer and Cdr Usha Sangwan, Vice Principal Co-ordinated this mega event. The Marathon was conducted by Shri B Pradhan, Sr Master & Shri AK Mukherjee.
The winner of this Marathon are Cdt Jeevan Dehury in Senior category and Shri Arnav Deepak Barik inOBEAN category. In girls category Cdt D Eleana Maria is the winner where as Cdt Manish Chhatar stood first in Junior boys category.
They were awarded by the Chief Guest, Shri Padmanav Behera, Hon’ble Minister of Transport and Commerce, Govt of Odisha.
