PRABASHI BHASHA SAMMAN 2019 has been declared!; Dr Pratibha Ray to be conferred in ‘AMA GAOURAB SAMMAN-2019’

New Delhi: Delhi based intellectuals’ forum of Odia diasporas ‘The Intellects’ has announced its annual language awards today. These awards are given every year for outstanding contribution of individuals and organizations towards development of Odia language across the globe.

Noted Odia writer, one of the Jnanpith awardees and present chairman of Jnanpith
Committee Dr. Pratibha Ray will be conferred in ‘AMA GOURAB SAMMAN-2019’ for her
lifetime contribution to Odia language.

Other eminent awardees are Dash Behnure for children literature, Prof. Panchanan
Mohanty for Linguist, Prof. Antaryami Mishra, Academic Author on language, Prof.
Dhukhisyam Pattanayak, Manuscript Expert, Sharon Lowen eminent guru of Odissi,
Chhau and Manipuri Dance, Susmita Dash, renowned singer Odia Music, Debendra
Prusty, Journalist, Prof. Bhagirathi Nanda for translation from Odia to Sanskrit, Dr.Bijayalaxmi Nayak, Poet and Teacher and Sudhir Patel for Odia Fonts development.

In Organizational category Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO for Corporate
excellence in promotion of Language and Culture, Sh. Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik, CMD,
THE SAMBAD for promotion of Odia language, Sh. Rashmiranjan Parida, founder
KALINGA LITERATURE FESTIVAL for popularizing literature in Odisha, Dr. Indramani
Sahu, Convenor NIKHILA UTAKAL ODIA HONOURS CHHATRA SANSAD for Language
Movement. In youth inspirational category Ranjan Kumar Pradhan for journalism,
Akshaya Kumar Ojha for popular poetry collection Bisikeshan), Atasi Mishra for excel in Odissi dance will be awarded on 20th February 2019 at Constitution Club of India during celebration of 5th International Conclave on Mother Language.

LangFest is India’s only conference dedicated to this cause for the last five years, it has been providing a platform for all stakeholders to come together, discuss and create action plans and metrics to carry this agenda forward. It aims to bring together domain leaders from all major regional languages in India said chairman of the organization Debendra Nath Rout. It is attended by scholars and intellectuals from various regions and quarters across the country.
