Bhubaneswar: Internationally known senior media person OUTLOOK editor Ruben Banerjee launched senior journalist, columnist, photo-journalist Prasanta Patnaik’s “Trutiyanayan” and “Gandhijinka Dukha” on Saturday at the Press Club of Odisha, Bhubaneswar in presence of a large number of distinguished audience. Mr Banerjee , who had long stint in Odisha in the beginning of his journalistic career and was very closely associated with Prasanta admired his writings which are testimony of free journalism without fear or favor.
Ruben whose book on Odisha Cyclone , published by India Today group was highly appreciated by readers and researchers all over, has penned a book on Odisha’s longest serving Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik , to be released on 31st July, spoke about his love for Odia language, literature and the people of Odisha..Though his journalistic career started in Andhra and Odisha with Newstime and Indian Express , he had to spend years in Doha with Aljajira and on returning to India with Hindushan Times as the national editor in Delhi before joining prestigious news magazine Outlook.
Literary critics Adhyapak Biswaranjan and Dr Asit Mohanty critically appreciated Prasanta;s wrings and expected that his books Trutiyanayan and Gandhijinka Dukha will be wee accepted by the readers. They emphasized that the Sahitya Akademi should recognize journalistic writings published as columns in newspapers as pieces of literature .
