Odisha: Spirit of Sports in Path Utsav; Olly the Mascot Joined as Guest of Honour

Bhubaneswar: The mascot Olly today got marvellous honour from the Path Utsav team on behalf of the citizens of capital city. Being the mascot of the mega sports event the Asian Athletics Championship the mascot travelled from school to school and college to malls to popularise the sports spirit. In return Olly honoured as one of the guest of the Patha Utsav and felicitated by the Tourism and Culture Minister in presence of BMC Mayor.

The Bhubaneswar Patha Utsav today organised on the theme of 22^nd Asian Athletics Championship. Mascot Olly remained one of the key attractions of the event today. The Janapth stretch become colourful with the large rangoli art by the NKBT organisation. The rangoli based on the mascot Olly and messages on Asian Athletics Championship (AAC). Similarly artist Itishree Dixit drawn paintings of legendary sports stars like Duti Chand, Purnima and Amiya Samal. The artist also wished best of luck to the athletes through her paintings.

Early in the morning the Ayush Department organised Yoga camps under the cool cloudy temperature in the activity zone. The partners of Path Utsav in this zone had organised sports quiz programme and other activities to promote the AAC. The hearts of  main stage audience conquered by the powerful performance of Humane Sagar, one of the leading ollywood singer. A team of women delegation from Malaysia were seen dancing in tune with the songs of the singer which drawn everybody’s lure.

Besided musical chair, awareness on plantation, open library, talent show and few other activities organised in the activity zone by  the support organisations. Members of sports hostel joined in good number and played football in full spirit which encouraged a lot to the participants. Interestingly BMC’s Additional Commissioner Alok Kar seen playing basket ball for long hours with his colleagues of the civic body. Mayor Anant Naryan Jena thanked the citizens of Bhubaneswar for supporting the promotion of Asian Athletics Championship and also sough everybody’s cooperation.
