Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that a state-of-the-art Bus Terminal will be constructed at Khannagar, Cuttack with an allocation of Rs. 65 Crore and this will be named after Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The project will be implemented under 5-T initiative, he said.
Chief Minister directed to develop modern facilities such as terminal building, regular Bus-bay, space for local and Mo Bus service, repairing and maintenance block and parking place for 4 wheelers and auto-rickshaws in the new terminal. He further directed to include facilities like passenger waiting room, food court, cloak room, ticket booking room, e-vehicles charging point, rooftop rainwater conservation and solar panel system. He also said that Cuttack ring-road will be extended to another 2 KMs for the purpose.
Chief Minister further said that the terminal will accommodate the parking of 180 buses and will have an Integrated Information Management System, keeping in view the convenience of the commuters. Hon’ble Chief Minister directed to install a special Kiosk to aware the public on the life and struggle of Netaji and to put different motifs and paintings to propagate his ideals.
Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Addl. Chief Secretary, Home, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Transport, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Principal Secretary, Finance, RDC, Central, Secretary, Works and Collector, Cuttack were present in the meeting while Sri V.K. Pandian, Secretary to Chief Minister (5-T) coordinated.
Chief Minister congratulated Housing & Urban Development Department as Odisha received Best State award for JAGA Mission and Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO) for Best Civic Agency Award for Piped Water Supply Scheme for all Urban Households in Janaagraha City Governance Awards 2020.
