Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The District Rural Development Agency [DRDA] was organized a felicitation ceremony in town Hall here on Saturday. The occasion aims that felicitating beneficiaries and organizations successfully implementing government sponsored poverty alleviation schemes. District collector Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar chaired the meeting, state planning board deputy chairman Bishnu Das, district planning committee chairman cum MLA Prashant Muduli, zilla Parishad president and vice president, DRDA project director, block development officers from different blocks, PR representatives from several Panchayat’s were participated. Panchayat’s successfully implementing ‘Peetha’ programs were given Rs 5 Lakh each, besides benefices those completed housing scheme within four months were given Rs 20,000 cash prize, work orders were given to the beneficiaries selected for the farm pond scheme, Madhu Babu pension beneficiaries were given their social assistance benefits. Few SHGs were given cash prize for successfully launching the women empowerment programme.
