Malkangiri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would inaugurate the much-awaited Gurupriya bridgeon July 26. This was informed by the BJD district president and MLA Manas Madakami on Monday.
The bridge will serve as a lifeline for the people in the cutoff areas of Malkangiri district. The 910-meter bridge was earlier scheduled to be inaugurated on July 18; however, it was postponed due to adverse weather. The bridge will connect as many as 151 villages with around 30,000 people in the cutoff region.
Patnaik would also inaugurate a 300-bed District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here on the day. Preparations for the events are in full swing and police have made adequate security arrangements for the CM’s visit.
