Bhubaneswar: BMC had organised today a mega pension camp at the Ravidra Mandap where 641 nos of beneficiaries were given pension under the Madhubabu Pension Scheme.
Minister of Social Security and Empowerment Smt Usha Devi who attended as the chief guest in the event said the state government is committed towards the social security of citizens. Mayor Anant Narayan Jena said BMC has expedited its social security activities, another such mega camp will be organised in next where the left over beneficiaries will be covered under Madhubabu Pension Scheme. He also added that there are 7 nos of Shelter for Urban Homeless are functioning in BMC limits, so people who are homeless can be sheltered in these houses with food and other facilities. While addressing the stakeholders he requested that all should cooperate BMC in carrying out social welfare schemes, and also to keep the city city.
In today’s event provisional allotment letters also given to the beneficiaries of Mahishakhal Housing Project under PMAY Scheme. Besides, MLA-North, MLA-Central, Dy Mayor, Deputy Commissioner of BMC Srimant Mishra and Corporators were present in the event.
It may be noted that under the Madhubanu Pension Scheme Widows, Senior Citizens and PWD persons are given a pension amount of Rs. 300 per month.
Key points about Madhubabu Pension Yojana:
• If a person is of 60 years of age and above
• Is a widow irrespective of age
• Is leprosy person with visible sign of deformity
• Is a widow of AIDS patient
• Is an AIDS person
Rs 300(60-79 years) and Rs.500 (80 years and above) per beneficiary per month.
