Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM & BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has urged party men to carry on membership drive on a massive scale from Monday. Patnaik said the membership drive will continue till October 31 and urged the Biju Janata Dal workers at the grassroots level to reach out to households in the state embark on the enrollment drive. The BJD supremo said he will personally supervise the drive on a fortnightly basis.
Speaking at the extended executive body meeting here on Sunday, Patnaik expressed his gratitude to the people of Odisha for blessing BJD to romp home victory for the fifth time. He said the trail of victory of the party continues due to the blessings and work of brothers and sisters of the state. ‘I am grateful to you for the hard work to put the party on top’, the Chief Minister said.
Patnaik said the BJD has always focused on the people and added that his government has introduced 5Ts in the government for better governance. The Odisha Chief Minister said: “I expect you all to act as agents of transformation and bring cheers and satisfaction in the lives of the common man. I want people to see integrity in our approach and actions.”
Urging the party men to work on the principles of Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary, the BJD chief said Gandhiji’s ideals are relevant in the present-day society. Our party workers must work with the Gandhian institutions across the state for realising Gandhiji’s dreams, Patnaik said.
Patnaik exhorted the party workers to strive hard to make the ‘Jeevan Bindu’ programme a great success. He said the blood donation programme of BJD has already acquired the form of a mass movement in the state. It is incumbent upon the BJD workers to carry forward the noble programme which is meant for saving precious lives, Patnaik said.
