Bhubaneswar: Ruling Biju Janata Dal of Odisha on Saturday put 10 posers to Narendra Modi-led NDA Government seeking clarifications as to what it has done for development of Odisha during the three years of its current rule.
BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb accused the Centre of failing to execute promises made by the saffron party before the 2014 elections. Pratap Deb said the NDA Government has failed to keep its promise of creating two crore jobs every year. “Has it generated six crore jobs, including 30 lakh jobs in Odisha, during the last three years?” wanted to know Deb.
He specifically targeted Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and wanted to know from him as to how many Odia youths have got employment in the IOCL and what happened to the demand for special category status for Odisha.
He said the Union Agriculture Minister should clarify during his coming visits why the Centre is yet to fix MSP at cost of production plus 50 per cent profit.
“Though our party had supported the demonitization drive, we want that the BJP should now come up with a whitepaper informing how much black money has returned after the drive which is touted to be one of the bold steps taken by the Modi Government,” demanded Deb.
He too wanted that the Central Ministers, who would visit the State in coming days, to share information and status about the Coastal Highway project, Central assistance and conversion of State Highways into National Highways in Odisha and non revision of coal royalty with people.
