New Delhi: The number of Indians visiting the United States increased by 6.5 percent from 2016 to 2017, according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Travel & Tourism Office (NTTO) released last week.
Per the NTTO statistics, a total of 1,285,466 Indians traveled to the United States in 2017, up from 1,206,771 the year before. NTTO’s data are based on the numbers of individuals who passed through U.S. ports of entry, including airports. Reports of a decline in visitors were incorrectly based on forecasted numbers that are outdated and inaccurate.
