Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that sacred Mandakini River will be made completely pollution free. Each house of Chitrakoot city will be connected to the sewer line. Water obtained after the treatment of sewage water will be utilized in agriculture activities. Shri Chouhan was addressing the bhoomi poojan programme of works worth Rs. 28 crore 87 lakh 61 thousand related to second phase of Chitrakoot Sewage Project under the Mandakini River Conservation at Bharat Ghat of Mandakini River at Chitrakoot.
CM Shri Chouhan mentioned that origin point of Mandakini river will be developed keeping in account the environment and to make the river flow incessant. An amount of Rs. 40 lakh has been sanctioned for this work. Also tributary rivers of Mandakini river will be revived. CM Shri Chouhan said that a sum of Rs. 40 lakh towards conservation of Gupt Godavari beside an amount of Rs. 2 crore for cow conservation and goushala will be sanctioned
Urban Passenger Development Tax and Transport Check Post in Tapobhoomi Chitrakoot to be Abolished
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan stated that any kind of tax will not be levied on pilgrims visiting Chitrakoot. The tax will be borne by the state government. Similarly, the ceheck post of transport department will be abolished. Buses will be plied for teerth yatris making circuit of Karvi, Atarra, Satna and other places. Shri Chohan performed the pooja archana of Sita Mata here and honored the Sadhu-Santa presenting them shawls and shreephals. Moreover, Shri Chouhan laid foundation of various development works worth Rs. 5 crore at Kamadgiri.
Announcement to make Chitrakoot a Mini Smart City
CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan mentioned that Chitrakoot will be transformed into a Mini Smart City after its overall development. An amount of Rs. 180 crore has already been sanctioned in the first phase. He further stated that every necessary work will be carried out for the development of the penance place Chitrakoot of Lord Shri Ram as per the need of traders, pilgrims and Sadhu Sants. He informed that sanction of Rs. 2 crore 25 lakh for shed at Kamadgiri Parikrima, Rs. 3 crore 22 lakh for construction of water tanks, Rs. One core 63 lakh for toilets’ construction has already been given. Sewer line costing Rs. 28 crore will be constructed at to prevent disposing of sewerage in Mandakini river. Moreover, development works like tar road from Ramdarshan to Ashram shed, retaining wall at Bharat ghat and its repair work, construction of shed for yatris, arrangements of water and toilets on routes, religious tourism circuit, environment development works and Kamdari Parvat, Sphatic Shila, Arogyadham, expansion of Godavari channel, resting places for yatris at Kamtanath Path, arrangement of potable water and toilets, to prepare compost from poojan material and Gou –Abhyaran. An amount of Rs. 75 crore has been sanctioned for conservation of ponds, drainage system for rain water, development of roads, traffic squares and their beautification for smart traffic, e-rickshaws plying and construction of pakka house for poor. Campaign for cleaning of Mandakini river for environmental development and for revival of Saryu river, Paisooni river. Also plantation at Kamadgiri Parvat, Laxman Pahadi and Sati Ansuiya area will be undertaken, he added.
