Puri: A palanquin-carried cover named ‘Rasagola in Srijagannathji’s Cuisine’ was released by the India Post at the Puri Head Post Office here on Friday.
Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle Santosh Kumar Kamila released the cover.
The cover features the traditional offering of Rasagola as Prasad to Goddess Laxmi on behalf of Lord Jagannath during Niladri Beje, which is performed after the end of Rath Yatra. During Niladri Bije, the sibling deities are taken to the sanctum sanctorum. This information is written on the reverse side of the postal over in Odia, Hindi and English. Among others, SSPOS Sanjib Mahapatra, Asit Mohanty, servitor Jandan Pattjoshi Mahapatra, Puri Head Post Office Postmaster Debaraj Sethi, Srikshetra Sangi president Mahendra Mishra, vice-president Dham Prasad Mishra and secretary Captain RB Mohapatra were present.
