Bhubaneswar: The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Sri Sri University has organised seven days state level art exhibition ‘ Impressions-2017’ in the campus. This was inaugurated by Lifetime president of Sri Sri University Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji ans Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister Human Resource and Development on 22nd August 2017. This was coincided with the 4th Convocation Sri Sri University which has students from 28 states of India and 6 countries of the world. The department runs a graduate program named Bachelors in Fine Arts and it created platform for reputed as well as budding artists to showcase their talents in the state level art exhibition.
Twenty five senior artists participated in the event, showcasing their magnum opus and precious creations. Principals, Head of the departments, faculty members of Art colleges and many freelance artists participated in the event. Sixteen students from the varsity also displayed their artistic creations.
Prominent artists participated were Mr. Rabinarayan Rath, Prof. Subrat Mallick, Prof. Panchanan Samal, Mr. Pradosh Swain, Prof, Meenaketan pattnaik, Prof. Nikunj Bihari Das, Mr. Tarakanta Parida, Mr. Rajesh Nayak, and Mr. Chintamani Biswal etc.
Prof. Ravinder Singh, Head of the department says, ‘ such an initiative is the first of its kind in the department and will bring glory to the Organization. It is in consonance with Poojya Gurudev’s vision in propagating the Art and culture. The University promises to bring best of East and the best of West. The students were encouraged to see the overwhelming response of the At Exhibition. The inaugural ceremony was graced by President designate of the varsity Mrs Rajita Kulkarni and Vice Chancellor, Prof Nand Lal. The exhibition is to end end on 26th August 2017.
