Report by Kanhu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The disaster preparedness day and National day for disaster reduction 2019 was observed by district administration here on Tuesday. State water resources and I and PR minister Raghunandan Das, MLAs Vishnu Das, Peasants Muslim, collector SK Mohapatra, ADM SN Sahoo, Sub Collector MP Mohanty attended the event. Speaking on the occasion attending guests recalled the devastation occurred during 1999 Super Cyclone and discussed post cyclone restoration works had been undertaken by BJD government led by chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Now Odisha has become a model state in country with regard to disaster preparedness and it’s reduction moreover our state has been awarded by UNO for its preparedness over natural calamity. We can combat any eventuality if any calamity struck Odisha, minister Das dared. Later a mock drill was performed by fire personnel, Iffco Paradip.
