Angul: The third Annual Sports Day at DAV-Savitri Jindal High-School has been held with participation of young athletes of the school. Students from Class 1 to Class 10 competed with each other in a number of colourful sports events for prizes.
Attending the inaugural function as Chief Guest Mr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Vice-President of JSPL unveiled the mascot, a little elephant calf. Mr. Satyanarayan Hota, School Principal welcomed the Guests, participants and parents for the event.
On this occasion, Executive Director (I/c) and Location Head of the Angul unit of JSPL Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, extended his warm wishes to the school management committee, staff members and students for their Annual Sports Day.
Addressing on this occasion Mr. Sharma expressed the importance of sports in a student’s life and asked them to practice in the game of their choice to keep their body and mind sharp and active.
Around 300 boys and girls of the school participated in this sporting event with great enthusiasm and total 46 numbers of different sporting exercises were held under the guidance of school sports teacher Mr. Krushna Kumar Das along with other teachers and volunteers. Other students cheered their preferred participants.
Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, President-JMS graced as the valedictory ceremony Chief-Guest of and gave away the prizes to various winner and runner-ups in presence of JSPL’s EVP-Finance Mr. Arvind Kumar, Mrs. Puspalata,DGM-CSR; Mr. Chhanda Charan Das, Principal OPJS; Mr. Laxmikant Dutt, Principal-Kaniha and other distinguished guests, parents and spectators from the periphery villages.
Mr. Basant Bhoi of class 10th awarded for his excellent performance in Khoko and Kabbadi in district level sporting event and bringing laurels for the school and his locality.
School teacher Mrs. Madhumita Sahu conducted the event where Mrs. Deeptirekha Das accorded vote of thanks to one and all for their all-round support.
