Rourkela: The number of Covid cases at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-R) reached 20 with six more students being tested positive for the viral infection on Saturday.The NIT-R authorities informed that the new positive cases, including a girl student, have been kept in isolation at the institute’s North Guest House.
On March 10, the first Covid positive case had been detected at the NIT-Rourkela.
As the institute’s Senate decided to conduct semester examination in online mode, the authorities intensified Covid test among students before allowing them to leave hostels, said an official.
Also, testing is being conducted after contact tracing of the infected students, the official added.
