Bhubaneswar: On the Occasion of Make in Odisha Conclave to be held during 11th-15th November 2018, Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Govt. Of Odisha in association with Biju Patnaik University of Technology Odisha is going to organise a 36 hours “Smart Odisha Hackathon” (SOH) involving the UG/PG Students of different discipline of the State and outside State.
The idea behind the Hackathon is to encourage the students of State to identify innovative and disruptive IT solutions for public service delivery and governance as also to encourage innovation and creativity among them. It shall also help to identify Start-ups and nurture the local entrepreneurs. The problem areas of this Hackathon shall broadly cover the public utility fields like Education, Skill and Entrepreneurship, Ecology & Environment, Urban Problems, Health Care, Agriculture, Disaster Management and Industry Oriented Problems.
In this regard to start with the process, BPUT conducted a Sensitization Workshop on Hackathon on 7th September 2018 at IDCOL Auditorium, Bhubaneswar. Smart Odisha Hackathon will be conducted during 13th-14th November 2018 at CET, Bhubaneswar and Prize distribution will be done on 15th November at Conclave Place. There will be 1st prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize for all seven categories amounting to Rs 1.00 lakh, Rs 75,000/- and Rs 50,000/- respectively for State Category and 1st and 2nd Prize for Outside state students. amounting to Rs 1.00 lakh and Rs 75,000/- respectively.

Swamy, RDC, North Division, & vice-Chancellor, BPUT, Dr. Ajay Kumar Nayak, Joint Secretary, SD&TE Department, Sri Sudarshan Panda, Joint Secretary, SD&TE Department, Sri Manjunath Thyagrajan, Technical Partner, Hackearth, Bangalore, Sri Himansu Sekhar, Registrar, BPUT, Dr. Partha Sarkar, Director, C.D., BPUT were present in the workshop and interacted with participants from hundred technical and professional colleges and different universities.
