Kaliapani: 22nd Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation week celebration started today by all the mining fraternity in Sukinda Chrome Valley under the aegis of IBM- Bhubaneswar. It will continue from 20th Jan ’20 to 26th Jan’20. Today on the first day 22nd MEMC week was inaugurated by flag hoisting done at Sukinda Mines ( Chromite) by Sudhanshu Patni- VP mining and Mahagiri Mines ( Chromite) by Lalatendu Mohapatra- GM Mines in presence of IMFA employees. Also inspection of both the mines was held by the inspection team led by convenor K K Sahoo- GM Raikela Tantra, M/s Penguin Trading and Agencies with other members C K Ratha- Mines Manager of KJST Jaldi Iron Mines and Manoj Pattanaik, Manager- Geology of Patabeda Iron Mines in Sukinda Mines ( Chromite) and Convenor Niranjan Kumar – Senior Manager Mining of M/s Tata steel Ltd with team members Arjun Kumar Chowdhury- AGM Mines, T K Sahoo- Geologist of Raikela Iron Mines in Mahagiri Mines( Chromite) .
On this occasion a drawing and quiz competition was held among the students of seven nearby schools viz. NGM High school, Kansa, OMC High School, Kaliapani, Sourik UP School, Chingudipal, Gram Panchayat UP School, Kalarangiata, Anchlika High School, Garamian, Srimaa Arobindo High School, Anala and Patitapaban UP School, Pimpudia. The winners of the competition were awarded and all the teachers were honoured on the stage.
Lalatendu Mohapatra- mines manager of Mahagiri Mines initiated the function and Manoj Samal have extended thanks to all the participants and organisers. Sudhanshu Patni- VP Mining have highlighted about the special activities undertaken by IMFA towards Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation and sustainable mining.
The inspection team also appreciated the initiatives taken by IMFA towards the initiatives taken for protection of Environment. Few theme based Drama was enacted by the mining team. Suresh Prusty- Senior Manager- Geology , M Manikandan, Manager- Environment, Ajay Behuria- DGM – P & A, Jagan Mohan Mallick – Sr. Manager- Public Relation, Dhiraj Pandey, Manisha Mohanty, Samarendra Swain, Milan Ranjan Kar, Debasish Samal, Bharat Chandra Rout had coordinated for smooth functioning of the celebration..
