Bhubanewar: As many as 15 products manufactured in Odisha have got Geographical Indication (GI) tags so far while the State is still collecting data to apply for availing GI tag for Rasagola. This was informed by the Science and Technical Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJP MLA Dilip Ray.
Eight handicraft items, five textiles and handloom products and two agricultural products have GI tags between 2005-06 and 2013-14. The products include Kotpad’s handloom fabric, Odisha Ikat saree, Khandua, Gopalpur’s Tussar cloth, Pipili appliqué, Pattachitra, Konark stone work, Sambalpur Bandhasaree, Bamkei Saree, Habaspur saree, Brahmapur Pattasaree and Joda and Ganjam’s Ketaki flower.
