West Bokaro: West Bokaro division of Tata Steel celebrated the 180th birth anniversary of its Founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata with lots of fun and frolic on Sunday.
The celebrations started with a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ by hundreds of school children from various schools from West Bokaro along with employees of Tata Steel as a tribute to the founder. The rally started from Sports Complex and concluded at the Administrative building premises. At Administrative building premises, the employees, union officials, school children and teachers led by Mr Anurag Dixit, Chief, Quarry SE, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) paid homage to the founder by garlanding the bust of J N Tata.
Among others present on the occasion were Mr Anand Kumar, Chief, Capacity Enhancement Project, Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Bhawani Singh Nirwan, Head, Stakeholder Management, Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Gopal Nath Jha, Head, R&R, Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Dr M K Gupta, Head, Environment & Forest, Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Rajesh Kumar, Head Project (Infrastructure & Utilities), Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Sanjay Kumar, Head, Operation, Quarry AB, Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Naveen Kumar, Head, Outbound Logistics (O&M), Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Rajeev Kumar Ranjan, Head, Inbound Logistics (O&M), Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Mr Madesh Kumar, Head, Services, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) along with other senior officials of the Division.
In line with its founder JN Tata’s principle of making welfare of the communities the primary purpose of business, a multi-specialty mega health camp was organised by Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) at Community Centre, Rajendra Nagar, West Bokaro. More than 400 patients were provided specialized consultation by doctors from TSRDS, West Bokaro unit. The patients were also provided with free medicines and pathological investigations.
At Tata Central Hospital, West Bokaro, the Founder’s Day was celebrated by distributing fruits and special meal to all its indoor patients.
The celebrations at West Bokaro Division concluded with a Girls Football Tournament which was organized By TSRDS at Sports Complex, West Bokaro followed by a tribal cultural event and distribution of musical instruments (Mandra Nagada) to around 50 local tribal performers.
On the previous night, the employees paid homage to Sir Dorabji Tata by garlanding his bust near the Purchase office post which the lighted up JRD park was opened for the public by Mr Anurag Dixit, Chief, Quarry SE Tata Steel (West Bokaro) in the presence of officials of Tata Steel and Union representatives.
