Lanjigarh: ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’. Celebrating the onset of Ratha Yatra celebrations in Lanjigarh, Vedanta Limited in association with Lanjigarh Youth Club organised a Mega Pick-Up and Cleanliness Drive at Lanjigarh Market area today. Vedanta employees and locals from the vicinity gathered around with the objective to achieve clean public spaces and understand the benefits of cleanliness.
Present during the occasion were Mr Jalaj Malpani, CFO-Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh, Mr Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Transformation Officer, Mr Mahendra Kumar Raut, Head – HR, Mr. Chandradhwaj Pesnia – Ex-Sarpanch Lanjigarh, Mr. Vinod Gaud – President-Lanjigarh youth club among other intellectuals and youth association members of the region. Addressing the volunteers and participants, Mr Jalaj Malpani expressed his gratitude to the enthusiasm that the volunteers and participants shared towards this Drive and requested everyone to make the resolution of keeping their neighbourhood litter-free.
The volunteers’ cleared away garbage, bottles, wrappers, polythene, and waste products which were spread across the area. Even a heavy downpour could not break the spirit of the volunteers as they made a fruitful and zealous effort to keep their immediate surroundings clean to spread a strong message to keep Lanjigarh spick and span.
Vedanta officials, Security and Fire department personnel, and an over fifty community members took part in the initiative.
