Bhubaneswar: One more significant step to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the State of Odisha with the setting up of Atal Incubation Centre – Nalanda Institute of Technology Foundation, a new technology business incubation centre at Chandaka, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Niti Ayog, Govt. of India. On 2nd March, 2021 the State of Art Incubation Centre has been inaugurated by Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble Minister of State, Government of India for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries in the presence of large number of dignitaries prominent among them being Shri Tapan Kumar Chand, Director BALCO & DG, AIC-NITF on this occasion.
Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble Minister of State, Government of India for MSME, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries said that, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat. This incubation centre is a big step in this direction. This centre has all facilities for startup and budding entrepreneurs to realise their ideas. They will get trained, production and marketing facilities here to reach out wider mass. All types of entrepreneurs be in bio waste field or robotics can avail this facility.”
AIC- Nalanda Institute of Technology Foundation (AIC-NITF) is the first Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) in Odisha which has been envisioned and fully supported by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Government of India & recognized by Startup Odisha. AIC-NITF offers a 10000 sqft of incubation space amidst a lush green campus with state of the art infrastructure support, sector-specific labs / FabLab with high-end prototyping facility and other office amenities for the budding entrepreneurs of the country. The incubation centre provides world class mentoring support from domain experts and renowned professionals from industry, government & startup ecosystem. AIC-NITF extends plethora of venture building services and networking opportunities to develop the investability of startups through exclusive investor connects. The Centre nurtures and supports early-stage entrepreneurs to materialize AIM, NITI Aayog’s vision to develop entrepreneurship ecosystem across the country so that new innovations & business shall create, scale and contribute to the growing economy of our nation. Currently, AIC-NITF has 20 Startups in its first cohort of incubation programme.
Shri Tapan Kumar Chand Director BALCO & DG, AIC-NITF thanked Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Shri Dibya Shankar Mishra, for their strong commitment towards the development of the startup ecosystem in India and especially in Odisha. He presented the Vision, Mission & Objectives (VMO) of AIC-NITF to be a world class Technology Business Incubation Centre and a hub of startups & entrepreneurs in eastern India. He also highlighted the importance of incubators as enabler of startups and job creators in the Country when our Nation is fast emerging with highest percentage of working population requiring employment.
An Investment of 16.5 Crores for 10 startups who pitched in the Fund Flow East Summit were announced during this event. The Startups who are able to raise fund from renowned investors are Technixia Automation Pvt Ltd, OSCB Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Aegipan Animal Biocare Private Limited, Food Raju, Doodh Sagar, R.A.U Industries LLP, Mitti Café, Yotta Agro Farms (Zetta Farms) / Growpital, Say Rooms & AIMart.
Since its inception in 2020, AIC-NITF is working for producing quality startups which have social and economic impacts. It hasconducted several impactful programmes like AIM in Odisha, Vichaar,Fund Flow East Summit, Startup Connect Campaign and many more.
