Bhubaneshwar: HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, India’s leading non-life insurer, announced St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary Schoolas the winners of the City Finale of the Insurance Awareness Award Junior – Quiz, 2019, conducted for the first time in Bhubaneshwar today. The team comprising SomnathRathand SwayamSidha Dash successfully cleared this level, competing amongst 20schools. The winners would now face the qualifiers of the city rounds from Raipur, Berhampur, Cuttak, Durgapur, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Jorhat, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, and Siliguriin the Zonal Round – East, which will be held in Kolkata.
In an attempt to inculcate awareness on insurance as a life skillset and prepare the students for this national level championship, HDFC ERGO representatives conducted educational townhalls for over 5,000 students of class 8th and 9th in over 20 schools in Bhubaneshwar. HDFC ERGO’s Insurance Awareness Award Junior – Quiz aims to provide a platform to educate young and agile minds about insurance in a fun and engaging way.

Launched in 2016, HDFC ERGO Insurance Awareness Awards Quiz Junior is a pioneering learning initiative that builds insurance aptitude and enriches the extracurricular record of the participants. Insurance is often misunderstood to be an investment and a tax saving tool only, which is not the ideal reason one should purchase insurance. Insurance helps bring life to near normalcy, in case individuals face catastrophic situation like an accident, flood, fire, illness, or others.Through this initiative,HDFC ERGO seeks to involve the parents, as well, in assisting the participating students understand the concept of insurance and thereby, encouraging them to learn more.
