Bhubaneswar: Odisha Metalliferious Mines Safety Week Celebrations Commitee (OMMSWCC) celebrated ‘Half Yearly Safety Week’ in Bhubaneswar under the aegis of Bhubaneswar Region of the Directorate General of Mines Safety(DGMS).
The function of this year was centred on educating and spreading mines safety awareness at mines area.
The final day of the ‘Half Yearly Safety Week’ function was presided over by Sri S. Bagchi, Director of Mines & Safety, Bhubaneswar Region.
Sri S, Bagchi, Director of Mines Safety of Bhubaneswar who is also current chairman of OMMSWCC outlined the board activities of OMMSWCC, especially in connection with OMMSAPP mobile appliation.
Sri Sanjeev Das, Sr. VP and Head Mining BU, IMFA, also spoke and highlighted on safety measures taken by IMFA at its plant site.
On the final day, a total no 26 prizes were distributed amongst the winners. Suknida Mines Chromite(SMC) of IMFA bagged 1st prize under the catagory of welfare measures for contractual workers and 2nd prize under the catagory of emergency preparedness in Mines. Similarly, Mahagiri Mines Chromite (MMC)of IMFA bagged 1st prize under the catagory of emergency preparedness in Mines and 2nd prize under the catagory of welfare measures for contractual workers.
