Chandigarh: The officers of the new Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted by the state government on the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, on Monday held a maiden meeting at Vigilance Bhawan SAS Nagar to discuss the modalities for conducting the thorough investigations into the Kotkapura incidents. Besides this, the SIT has already held different meetings with the officers and officials of police and legal departments in this regard.
With a view to collect more relevant evidence and information from the stakeholders, if not submitted earlier, and suggestions from any quarters, the SIT has provided an email newsit2021kotkapuracase@gmail.com and a dedicated WhatsApp number 98759-83237 (Without calling facility) to the public to furnish details or documents, if anyone desires, so that a free and fair probe could be conducted in an effective and efficient manner.
The SIT has assured that as per the orders of the hon’ble High Court, the investigations pertaining to both the FIRs (No. 192 dated 14-10-2015 & No. 129 dated 07-08-2018) registered at police station Kotkapura would be concluded as expeditiously as possible and to take it at a logical conclusion in an appropriate time.
