Bhubaneswar: In line with series of responsive measures and to have more close cooperation with state governments, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the principal financial institution engaged in the promotion, financing and development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has taken yet another step by offering its training institute, Swavalamban Academic Center (SAC), situated at Jayadev Vihar, Bhubaneswar, to be utilized as a quarantine facility for patients/isolation ward/hospital/stay facility for medical staff etc. by the Government of Odisha during the emergency situation created due to COVID-19.
Shri Mohammad Mustafa, IAS, Chairman & Managing Director, SIDBI said, “We are committed to serving the nation and contribute in every possible way to fight against COVID-19. We have also taken various other proactive steps as a responsible institution to fight against the menace. It’s our salute to illustrative efforts of health ambassadors (doctors and workers) and state governments in responding to national challenge emanated from coronavirus.”
SIDBIs endeavour is to strengthen the enterprise ecosystem by launching schemes for entire value chain (right from start-ups to MSMEs – SAFE, SAFE PLUS, CSAS & additional financial window for healthcare sector under its existing SMILE scheme). Earlier this month SIDBI has also committed Rs. 15 crores towards PM CARES Fund and supporting host of social responsibility initiatives, pan India.
