“Ratlams oxygen plant is a big relief for the people of the region”- Madhya Pradesh CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that there is no greater virtue than ensuring the well-being of others and saving their lives. Live and let live is our tradition and culture. We have seen and experienced the crisis of oxygen in the horrific period of Corona. In such a situation, it is commendable to provide relief and security to the people of the area by setting up an oxygen plant at Government Medical College, Ratlam.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan addressed the virtual inauguration of the oxygen plant installed at Government Medical College Ratlam from his residence. The oxygen plant has been set up at the Medical College Ratlam Chetanya Kashyap Foundation at a cost of Rs. one crore two lakhs to overcome the oxygen shortage during the crisis of Corona epidemic. Finance and Ratlam District Covid In-charge Minister Shri Jagdish Devda, MLA Ratlam Shri Chetanya Kashyap, MP Shri Guman Singh Damore and officials were present in the programme.

Oxygen plant completed in a short time

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Government Medical College Ratlam has become self-reliant in oxygen due to the setting up of oxygen plant by MLA Shri Chetanya Kashyap. 57 cubic meters that is one thousand liters per minute of oxygen will be available to the patients of the Medical College from this plant prepared in a short time. Even after the corona, this plant will continue to be useful. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that during the Corona period, the country and the state have seen a crisis of oxygen. Due to the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, oxygen was supplied through oxygen express rail and lifting of empty oxygen tankers by air force planes. Madhya Pradesh is grateful to Prime Minister Shri Modi for this cooperation.

135 oxygen concentrators imported

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Chetanya Foundation has arranged oxygen in the surrounding cities along with Ratlam. This collaboration in times of crisis reflects the positive thinking of the Foundation. The Foundation imported 135 oxygen concentrators. A 60-bed oxygen ward was started in Ratlam’s Medical College by giving 70 oxygen concentrators. 25 oxygen concentrators were given in Mandsaur-Neemuch parliamentary constituency, 20 in Jhabua-Alirajpur parliamentary constituency, 10 in Ratlam rural area and 10 in Badnawar.

It is necessary to be alert and careful

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the corona infection in the district is now controlled with the cooperation of Ratlam’s public representatives, officials, field staff, Crisis Management Committee and the public. The situation of corona infection is improving in the entire state. 75 thousand 417 tests were conducted in the state yesterday, out of which only 1200 positives have come. The state’s positivity rate is 1.6 percent and the recovery rate is 95.97 percent. There is not a single positive case in Khandwa. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there is a need to be alert and cautious. The corona virus is not yet gone. We have to protect ourselves by adopting Corona friendly behaviour.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now we are moving towards unlock. The process of unlocking will be decided by the local level Crisis Management Committees keeping in mind the local conditions.
