Bhubaneswar: Leading Odia novelist winner of prestegious jnanapith Award and academician Pratibha Ray, who has over 40 novels, travelogues and short stories to her credit on Tuesday ( 11th July 2017) lunched Rashmi Mohapatra’s first poetry collection ,
” Aparahnara Gita” meaning poems of afternoon, in presence of a lrage number of poets, writers, intellectuals at the Press Club of Odisha.
Mrs Ray praised the poems of Mohapatra and said, though this is her first poem collection almost all the poems are of good standard and commendable. She said that Rashmi’s poems cover a wide range of subjects and human experiences and speaks of positiveness of life.
Mrs Mohaptra who has taken voluntiary retirement from the covoted service in a naionalised bank has virtually settled in Mumbai with her two daughters and husband Vedvayas Lenka. A native of Puri. Mrs Mohapatra has completed her higher education in economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and had a very brief stint in the media before joining the Bank job. She worked for Odia daily “Khabarkagaj”, weeky “Tuesday” and monthly Odisha Indutry.
Eminent literary critic and poet Kedar Mishra, editor of Sunday literary pages of the Sanchar critically appreciated Rashmi’s poems and advised that she should continue to write without any break inorder to achive much more.
Prof. Adhyapak Biswaranjan who had taught Rashmi in S.C.S. College , Puri expressed his ahppiness over success of Radhmi in writing poems.
Rashmi thnaked all for the encouraging words and said that she will proceed ahead with writing poems till the last.
Prasanta Patnaik, editor Sanchar expresed his happiness over success of Rashmi in writing poems and encouraged her to continue further.
Mrs Poonam Bedi thanked all for making the lunching a grand success.
