Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ahead of tomorrow’s Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman election. The BJD today informed media that Naveen had a call from Modi seeking support for NDA candidate for the post of the Deputy Chairman in the upper house.
Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, BJP president Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday spoke to Naveen over phone seeking the BJD’s support for NDA candidate Harivansh Naryan Singh for the post.
BJD leader in Rajya Sabha Prasanna Acharya convened meeting of party’s Rajya Sabha MPs at 9:30 am on Thursday to communicate party’s decision regarding RS deputy chairman election . It should be noted that there are 244 members in the Rajya Sabha and support of 123 members is needed for a win in the full House.
