Odisha’s Paradip Port Becomes No. 1 Major Port In India; CM Naveen Patnaik Extends Congratulations

Bhubaneswar: Paradip Port Becomes No. 1 Major Port In India. Paradip Port Trust has become the number one major port in India in handling cargo in the Q1 of the current FY. Despite the pandemic, the port has handled cargo of 25.73 million metric tonne during April-June, 2020.

As the COVID-19 Pandemic continues to stifle the global supply chain, the maritime industry is no doubt facing a daunting task to function smoothly. In spite of all the obstacles, the team PPT has come out with flying colours and has clocked a remarkable 25.73 Million Metric Tonnes cargo handling mark and becoming the No. 1 Major Port of India. Shri Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, PPT and Shri A.K. Bose, Dy. Chairman, PPT have conveyed their gratitude to all employees, Unions, State Government, District Administration, Importers, Exporters, Stevedores, Steamer Agents, Port Users and other stakeholders, with whose regular support, a new chapter could be written in the history of the Port. The encouragement and guidance shown by the Minister of Shipping, Shri Mansukh Mandviya and Secretary Shipping, Shri Sanjeev Ranjan, helped the Port to scale new heights.
