Bhubaneswar: A special vigilance court on Friday sentenced rigorous imprisonment of 33 months and a fine of Rs 3.03 lakh to former Higher Education special secretary Aditya Prasad Sahoo for amassing assets disproportionate to the known sources of his income. In the event of failure to pay the fine, he would undergo imprisonment for four additional months.
Vigilance department had conducted simultaneous raids on his rented house, own house and paternal houses in 2006. Sahoo was booked by the vigilance wing after it found disproportionate assets to the tune of over Rs 41 lakh.
