Sukinda, May 26, 2017: Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), the CSR wing of Tata Steel, organised a health camp at the village of Tala Nagada under Chingudipal Panchayat in Sukinda block of Jajpur district today. Mr Nilendra Pradhan, Sarapanch of Chingudipal Panchyat inaugurated the health camp in the presence of local villagers and TSRDS unit head Mr Ravindra Kumar and others.
A Total of 85 patients including 56 children attended the camp for health check-ups and received treatment as well as medicines free of cost. The patients had come from areas like Upper Nagada, Majhi Nagada, Ekul, and some villages under Chingudipala panchayat. TSRDS doctors Dr Sabyasachi Mohapatra, Public Health, Dr Ashis Mohapatra, MD, Public Health, Mr T K Dangua, Lab Technician and their team attended to the patients.
One of the children was referred to Sukinda Community Health Centre (Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre) and another one to the Tata Steel Hospital in Sukinda Chromite Mine for further treatment. Along with treatment and distribution of medicines, special awareness drive was also made on malaria and malnutrition. TSRDS, Sukinda and other members of Tata Steel successfully organized the health camp.
On the occasion Tata Steel also distributed study and play material to the children of the village and the honour was done by Mr Pradhan.
Last year Nagada came into the limelight when cases of death of some children because of malnutrition were reported from the area. That time also Tata Steel Sukinda Chromite Mine extended all help to the district administration to manage the situation while facilitating treatment of the children in its hospital, opening cooked food centers, providing logistics support to the administration, etc.
