Bhubaneswar: The House Committee of Odisha Legislative Assembly on Computerization is on a tour to Delhi, Panjab and Himachal Pradesh from 20th to 24th August, 2019
to study the e-Vidhan application under Chairmanship of Dr. Surjya Narayan Patro, Speaker, OLA. The Committee is comprised of Sri Pradipta Kumar Naik, Leader of Opposition, Sri Bikram Keshari Arukha, Minister, Parliamentary Affairs, Forest & Environment, Sri Tusharkanti Behera, Minister, Sports & Youth Services, Electronics & IT, Smt Pramila Mallick, Govt. Chief Whip, Sri Tara Prasad Bahinipati, MLA, Sri Subash Chandra Panigrahi, MLA. Sri Dasarathy Satapathy, Secretary, OLA and other officers also accompanied the Committee. During the visit to the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and courtesy meet with Speaker all the members of the Committee were present.
Today Dr. Patro had a courtesy meet with the Speaker of Lok Sabha Sri Om Birla. Dr. Patro presented a bouquet and a memento of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra & Devi Subhadra to Sri Birla. Sri Birla was delighted to see the memento and kept it in his office chamber so that the visitors can have a glimpse of the deities.
Both the Speakers discussed issues of mutual interest relating to the Government of India, Nation, Parliament, Odisha Legislative Assembly for half an hour. Dr. Patro invited Sri Birla to visit Odisha and he instantly agreed to the proposal. Sri Birla praised the initiative taken by Odisha Legislative Assembly to implement National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) in line with the e-Assembly of Himachal Pradesh. Further Sri Birla said that he would send a team of officers to Odisha to appraise the Ministers and MLAs regarding rules and procedures of Assembly and Parliament. During the Courtesy visit Secretary of OLA Sri Dasarathy Satapathy and other Officers were present.
