Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government today orders installation of GPS device in all mineral transport vehicles. Mines minister Prafulla Mallick orders installation of GPS device in remaining 8,000 trucks out of 32,000 mineral transport vehicles .
Earlier the state government decided to implement the decision that No vehicles sans GPS facility would be engaged in the mining transportation activities from May 1.
It is mandatory for all the mineral transporting vehicles to install GPS devices as part of its effort to further streamline the mining activities in the state. Once GPS devices are fitted in the vehicles one can easily locate the trucks, carrying minerals, and their route. The maxium limit has been set keeping an eye on the carrying capacity of the roads and pollution level.
