Odisha Govt constituted advisory panel for Ekamra Plan under the chairmanship of Dr Santrupt Misra

Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Monday constituted a 19-member Project Advisory Committee (PAC) under the chairmanship of Dr Santrupt Misra to steer, guide and coordinate various matters relating to implementation of the Ekamra Plan Scheme under the Works Department for development of Ekamra Kshetra in Old Town, Bhubaneswar.

The other members of the PAC are Works Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Endowment Commissioner, Superintending Archaeologist, ASI, Additional Law Secretary in charge of Shree Lingaraj Temple Administration, DCP Bhubaneswar, Culture & State Archaeology Director, OBCC MD, Khordha Collector, sculptor Padma Vibhushan Sudarshan Sahoo, five persons including three from the temple servitors and two eminent personalities in the fields of heritage and culture and two persons having experience of conservation of monuments.

The State Government has launched the Ekamra Plan, for which an area of about 80 acres has been identified around the Lingaraj. The plan includes interventions for conservation and revival of the monuments, development of amenities for devotees and pilgrims and diverting the traffic to the periphery of the project area. While accepting his responsibility, Dr Santrupt Misra said, “Having widely travelled in India and overseas to many locations of historical and religious significance, I have experienced a variety of plans and designs. I hope to bring all my ideas, skills and experience to bear in making the Ekamra Plan meaningful and memorable.”
