Odisha Governor inaugurated the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Rajendra College

Bolangir: Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal inaugurated the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Rajendra College here on Friday.

The jubilee celebrations were earlier scheduled to be inaugurated by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, but his chopper could not take off from the Raipur airport due to inclement weather.

The Governor observed that the Rajendra College has produced excellent persons in the past; and after becoming a university, it would also produce talented persons who would spread their fragrance like flower and bring development of entire nation.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requested State Higher Education Minister Dr Arun Sahoo to fill up the vacant posts for better performance of the Rajendra University.

Dr Sahoo said the Government is taking steps for development of education in western Odisha. Balangir MP Sangeet Singh also spoke about the glorious history of the Rajendra College and assured to do her best for its further development.

On the occasion, a souvenir was brought our which was unveiled by the Governor.

Earlier, college Principal B Jena gave welcome address, Lalit Nayak of the Alumni Association conducted the meeting. Arbind Das proposed a vote of thanks.
