Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today announced to distribute free textbooks to students of Shishu Mandir Schools from Class 1 to Class 8, managed by Bharatiya Siksha Vikash Sansthan, across the State. This was informed by the School & Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patro.
The government has taken the decision following the outstanding performance of Shishu Mandir School students in the 10th board examinations over the past three years. It will be effective from this year and benefit nearly two lakh students.
The government has already written to the director of the textbook production and marketing department for supply of books to the 1,037 such schools running in the State.
